Jio 5G Plans

Ever since the announcement of the 5G network, people are so keen to know when Jio will begin offering 5G service in India. If you’re also wondering the same, then this is the post for you.

In this post, we shall discuss everything about Jio 5G Plans, SIM, Launch Date, Cities, and so on.

So, let’s get started…

Date Of The Introduction of 5G In India

In its 45th Annual General Meeting on August 29, 2022, Reliance Jio made the announcement that it would begin offering 5G service. According to Jio’s announcement, the launch of the Jio 5G network will, however, begin on October 5, 2022, but only in four locations and by invitation only.

Jio will offer its 5G services under the brand name Jio True 5G.

On October 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 5G services in India at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022. At the same event, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd., stated that Jio will provide 5G services that are both affordable and accessible nationwide by the end of the year 2023.

The rollout of the 5G services has begun, and the first four cities to receive them include Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai. Jio plans to provide 5G services based on standalone (SA) architecture in a number of cities throughout the country.

Jio plans to provide 5G to each and every town in India by the end of the year 2023. However, the initial launch of the 5G service will only be available in major cities where Jio will conduct pilot testing of the technology. According to the telecom brand, it will take between two and three months to offer 5G service to additional cities in India. However, by the end of this year, Jio anticipates offering its 5G services in the tier-2 and tier-3 cities of India.

5G users would be able to check the 5G network coverage in “My Jio App.” They will be able to monitor the availability of the 5G network in their geographic area.

The company plans to release an ultra-affordable 5G phone in collaboration with Google as soon as 5G network coverage becomes more widespread throughout the country.

With Jio, 5G users would be able to take advantage of limitless 5G internet at rates of up to 1Gbps+. Only those who are participating in the beta test and have been extended an invitation to try out Jio True 5G are eligible for the welcome benefit.

Who will be given the “Jio 5G Welcome offer?”

“Jio 5G Welcome offer” is an opportunity for people who will be eligible to participate in the Jio 5G testing. If you live in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, or Varanasi, you would be eligible for the 5G invite. If you are a customer who is eligible for the offer, the network operator will notify you through the MyJio app that you have been selected to get a “Jio 5G Welcome offer.”

According to reports, Jio will choose participants for the beta test on a random basis. It is important to note that your device must either already support 5G networks or have received an upgrade to its software that enables it to support 5G networks from the manufacturer.

Different 5G Bands That Jio Has Acquired

Jio placed the highest bid out of all the other companies that took part in the auction for India’s 5G spectrum. During the bidding process, Jio shelled out a total of 88,078 crores.

Jio has acquired 5G bands operating at all of the most common frequencies. The telecom brand will support low-band frequencies such as 700 MHz (n28) and 800 MHz (n5), as well as medium-band frequencies such as 1800 MHz (n3) and 3300 MHz (n78), and the high-band frequency (mmWave) of 26 GHz (n258).

The brand plans to offer 5G access to people throughout the country by the end of 2023. In order to accomplish this, Jio will make use of the very inexpensive 700 MHz sub-GHz frequency range.

Jio also has plans to roll out the premium millimeter wave (mmWave) 26 GHz band in all 22 service circles in India.

The first Jio 5G Locations be Available to Customers

Jio has announced that they intend to launch a 5G service in India by Diwali 2022. This deployment will initially focus on the nation’s urban areas. In the future, Jio plans to roll out the service in hundreds more tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Initially, Jio would launch its 5G services in a total of four cities, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.

In the second phase, 5G service may be rolled out to a number of additional major cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Jamnagar, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Pune.

It is important to note that not every resident in these cities will have access to 5G services.

Also, if you live in a town or a city with a population of less than 50,000 people, you will have to wait until the end of the year 2023.
