Restore Deleted Contacts on Android (1)

Imagine opening your contact list to make a phone call and finding that all or nearly all of your contacts have vanished! Your phone numbers for family, friends, and work are gone, and you don’t keep them written down in a notebook as we did 20 years ago. Doesn’t that sound awful?

It makes no difference if you accidentally deleted your contacts or if they were lost while rooting your Android device or doing any other type of tinkering.

Now you’re thinking about all the hard work you’ll have to do to collect those numbers again and add them to your contact list one by one. Fortunately, there are more straightforward ways to reclaim your contacts! I’ll walk you through each one step by step, and you choose the one that works best for you!

Accidentally deleting a phone number on Android is a common occurrence in our lives; sometimes even a simple click can result in this problem. And if you inadvertently lose a friend’s or coworker’s phone number, you’ll want to recover the deleted contacts from your Android, right? Then you should turn off your phone and restore your data as quickly as possible. Otherwise, your contacts will be replaced if they are lost.

Method 1: Check if your contacts have been lost or not

It’s critical to check whether contacts have been deleted or hidden before moving on to any other options. Frequently, contacts are not deleted and remain on the device.

So, to check the contacts on your device, simply follow the steps below:

  • Next, select “Settings” > “Contacts to display” from the menu button.
  • Now select “All contacts.”
  • Check to see if your contacts have been returned or not.

If they have returned, there is no need to proceed; however, if they have not, use the methods listed below to recover deleted contacts from Android phone memory.

To use Google’s apps and services, such as the Play Store, you must sign in with a Google account when you first set up Android. Any phone numbers that have been lost or deleted may still be accessible because your contacts are automatically backed up to your Google account. You must use the Google Account Settings feature to recover deleted phone numbers or contacts. Both a phone and a computer can be used for this.

  • Go to the Google Accounts page on your computer or phone. Make sure you’re logged into the same Google account you use on your phone if you haven’t already. You’ll need to log out if you’re logged into another account or a work account.
  • Open People & Sharing from the top menu on mobile or the side menu on the desktop.
  • Scroll down to the Contacts section and tap on the entry or click the Open button to open Contacts. You can also go to Google Contacts directly.
  • A list of all contacts saved to your Google account will now appear.
  • To recover any numbers you’ve recently deleted, open the side menu and select Trash.
  • You should now see a list of any contacts, phone numbers, or email addresses that have been deleted. Each entry will include information about where they were deleted, such as the web or a specific device, as well as the date they were removed.
  • Tap the contact you want to recover on your phone. If you’re on a desktop, click. A menu with options to Delete or Recover the contact will appear. To recover, select the appropriate option, and the information will be restored to your contacts list, including the phone number.
  • Open the Phone app to see if the phone number has been restored. Select Contacts, then look for the number or name of the contact you just restored in the list. Make sure you’re using the Google version of the app. You may have both the Google Phone app and a separate Contacts app on some devices. Samsung devices, for example, have both.

Method 4: Restoring Your Contacts from the Phone Memory

Even if you’ve deleted your contacts, there’s a good chance they’re still in your phone’s memory. You’ll need your PC for this type of recovery, and you’ll need to root your Android device first.
